To answer all these questions and more it has been decided (yes, another unanimous vote)
 to have a meeting -- afternoon tea, followed by a BBQ for those who wish to and have the time to stay on !  BYO everything.

Where - Billy's place, 8 Albert Road, Lesmurdie.

When - 4.00pm Saturday, December 10th 2011.

ALSO - Walliston Safari 9, wind up, bring your photos.
ALSO - Christmas Drinks.

Come and put your two bob's in !!! and enjoy a relaxing christmas drink.

Hey - what a great night last night. Many thanks to Billy and Jill for putting on the venue.
It was great to see so many people having a relaxing meal and Christmas drink.

NORTHERN TERRITORY

"The Top End & Central Australia"

Hi Folks

Welcome to Newsletter 1, giving you the latest news from our meeting last evening at Billy D's place.

 

It was decided to start the official Safari in Darwin on Monday 18th June, with some people having already travelled in their vehicles at their own pace to meet in Darwin on the Friday or Saturday so as to be able to attend the V8 Supercars event at Hidden Valley over the weekend of the 15-17 June.

We have answers to the WWW questions.

 

Where ... the Northern Territory and Central Australia, as much as we can see in the time allowed. Arriving via Kununurra and the Bungle Bungles. Returning via Alice Springs, Uluru and the Great Central Road back to Western Australia via Leonora and Kalgoorlie.

 

When ... 18th June 2012 - 7/9th July 2012. Depending on flights for fifo people.

         Depart Walliston 6-9th June - return - approx 14-15th July (5-6 weeks!)

Who ... anyone who wants to come.

 

The safari is shaping up to be available for many types of participants. I will try and explain as follows:

Those doing the whole Safari - "dido" - drive in drive out.

Those flying into Darwin and flying out at Alice Springs or Uluru - "fifo" - fly in fly out.

Those driving in and flying out - "difo" - drive in fly out.

Those flying in and driving out - "fido" - flying in driving out.

 

As you can see from the above there is really no excuse for you not to participate in some way shape or form. We would love to see you somewhere along the track or the whole Safari if possible.

 

 

 Those showing their willingness to participate as of the meeting are:

Bruce & John, dido with difo? passengers Julie & Danny - camper trailer & tents.

Harry & Cath dido with fifo? passengers Dianne and Billy T - camper trailer & tents.

Billy D dido (Queensland) with fifo passengers Carl & Lesley - caravan & tents.

(Should I have this area of participation type wrong please advise as you know that I was not taking notes.)

 

We are expecting it to take us about a week or so to get to Darwin and about 5 days to get home from Uluru.

 

 Please give us your input as this is a big and special Safari to organize.  It may take several changes to get something suitable for most people. Although I believe that the above is a very good start.
